Fabulous performance. The venue was a rustic tavern with an extension
off the back that could seat a few hundred. There were over a hundred
in attendance tonight. Mirror Images, obviously was unexpected and
got the crowd into it. Peter was talkative tonight and provided a few
interesting tidbits..

"..first time I played in this area was at Kent State, many many moons
past (1979). Now, my songs appear from all over the place but they are
generally driven by a certain seed that is dropped at a certain point
in time. This song, started that evening at Kent State." - Sign

"I'm not going to fill in the blanks here, but this is the only Peter Hammill
tune, The Pretenders nearly played!" - (On Tuesdays She Used To Do) Yoga

As for the encore, Peter came back out and re-tuned his guitar (Ship
Of Fools was tuned unconventionally) and was about to play Shingle
Song but realized one verse in that he was singing Again... he stopped and
said "that's not what I wanted to play!" I recall a similar 'fluff' with Stuart Gordon...

No piano tonight, he played a Roland RD700sx and apparently the sustain
pedal didn't fade like a piano, it just kept going. Peter had to continuously
pump it instead for a similar effect. Anyhow, a lovely performance with a
surprising setlist. Can't ask for anything more.
